STO.ER is an interdisciplinary dance performance that is produced by Plan-D and merges movement, theater, and visual art to explore curiosity and technical problem-solving. As sound designer and technical coordinator, my work involved creating an immersive, wordless audio narrative that mirrored the production’s themes of discovery and hands-on creativity. Overseeing technical execution, I ensured flawless synchronization of critical sequences, such as safe-opening effects, with millisecond precision. The result was a 100% technically seamless tour, praised for inspiring young audiences to embrace problem-solving through sound’s invisible power.

"Niemand is een Eiland" is a short film directed by Doris Schillings, exploring memory and reality through the reflections of its main character, Nynthe. As the music composer and sound designer, I crafted an emotionally evocative soundscape, using a blend of guitar, synth, and piano to mirror the transitions between Nynthe's present and her cherished memories. The sound design enhanced the film's immersive atmosphere, paying close attention to the smallest details, such as the authentic output of a small radio, ensuring the sound seamlessly supported the narrative's delicate emotional shifts.

"Goed Genoeg" is a film by Britt Beckers, featured at Blikvangers in Utrecht, that delves into the emotional journey of Sam as she navigates her internal struggles during a camper holiday with her friend Noa. As the sound designer and mixer, my work involved crafting a natural, immersive soundscape that deepened the emotional impact of the narrative. Key elements included sound cleaning, ambient layering, and creating an auditory shift to highlight Sam’s disconnection. The final mix, presented in both 5.1 surround sound and stereo, ensured a balanced, high-quality auditory experience that reinforced the film’s themes of identity and relationships.

"Bait" is an absurdist thriller by Alika Vissers, featured at Blikvangers in Utrecht and presented as an immersive installation at HKU Exposure. The film follows Amira’s journey into a surreal fish shop through a mysterious pink door, where she becomes entangled with the enigmatic shopkeeper, Kohaku. As both composer and sound designer, I crafted a layered, dialogue-free soundscape that played a crucial role in conveying the narrative. From organic outdoor soundscapes to underwater-like ambiances and haunting vocal elements symbolizing people transformed into fish, the sound design heightened the film’s tension and magic, culminating in a climactic, thrilling score.

"Entangled Freedom" is a dialogue-free theater performance by Rebeka Nemeth, presented as part of HKU Exposure 2024, funded by HKU and Theater Kikker. Set in a glass container symbolizing confinement, the performance explores the tension between two individuals trapped in repetitive routines. As frustration builds, they break free from the constraints, symbolizing liberation. As the sound designer and composer, I created an immersive soundscape that mirrored the actors' movements, utilizing recorded sounds from the set and minimalist music to enhance the meditative, yet unsettling atmosphere, with silence used strategically for emotional impact.

"Dissenesis" is a two-movement performance created in collaboration with Carla Costeira for her 2024 graduation concert at the Prince Claus Conservatorium. This project explores the clash between tradition and modernity through a fusion of music and visual art. The first movement, "Dissension," highlights the tension between these themes, with saxophone symbolizing tradition and electronics representing modernity, accompanied by dynamic visuals from artist Secil Kurtulus. The second movement, "Anamnesis," serves as a tribute to lost traditions, with a classical string quartet joining the saxophone, set against minimalist visuals of performers’ shadows to evoke memory. This innovative performance blends music, art, and staging to offer a powerful commentary on cultural evolution.
